No it's just part of John C McGinleys character, it was bill Lawrence's idea to write in the hatred for Hugh jackman. Basically its because Hugh Jackman has so much going for him with regards to his talent, his Broadway productions, athleticism and effect on women that he could see how this would annoy someone like Dr Cox who is very alpha male and would see dancing and singing as kinda gay.
McGINLEY: I think it's because the creator of the show just can't stand how talented he is. Hugh Jackman is just too talented. For him to have won a Tony, he's Wolverine, and he's deadly good-looking. He's a great athlete, he can sing and he can dance. That's too much for Billy (Lawrence) to process. Actually, its because McGinley tried out for the part of Wolverine but Hugh Jackman was chosen over him. Its just an inside joke in the show. Still funny though.

Hugh Jackman is 47-years-old. However, in a recent Instagram photo, he seems to look much older. It appears he dramatically aged over a period of just weeks. It has led to some conversation debating if he is sick, in makeup for a part, the lighting, or just living hard. In all likelihood, it is related to the fact that he is currently filming for Wolverine 3, where he has some scenes as "Old Man Logan."
