Star Trek Voyager is one of several spinoff shows from the original Star Trek series. Voyager itself is an Intrepid class starship. The gist of the story is that a Star Fleet crew (back in the Alpha Quadrant) is in search of a Maquis rebel ship, and during the search the two ships are sucked into the Delta quadrant by some sort of Graviton wave, the impact of which causes a few of the crew to die (the Maquis ship was sucked in some weeks earlier and the Star Fleet crew had to search for them). Being 70,000 light years from Earth, it will take them 70 years travelling at High Warp to return to Earth, and the crew of either ship who were not killed in the initial incident need to band together for survival, not to mention the fact that the Maquis ship was actually used as a battering ram against an aggressive alien (Kazon) warship. Along the way, they have a variety of Trekkie type adventures.
