Chris McQuarry (real name Chris Boyle) is a Northern Irish actor and screenwriter from Derry. As an actor he has appeared in a number of award-winning productions for both stage and screen including the BAFTA winning TV series TINSELTOWN and Jimmy McGovern's International Emmy winning docu-drama SUNDAY. He has also starred in a famous add campaign for Carlsberg and a cult internet viral for Lynx.

He played the fictional England footballer Alan Massey in the film Mike Bassett: England Manager, thereby earning the curious accolade of being the only Irishman to captain England at a World Cup Finals. In reality Chris also played football at a decent standard as a teenager playing for Derry City and for Northern Ireland Schoolboys.

He also works as a screenwriter under his real name Chris Boyle. As writer he has developed projects for Dream Works, Film Four, Talkback Thames, BBC, Pathé and Kudos. He has worked on a number of projects with the Oscar winning screenwriter Simon Beaufoy (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, THE FULL MONTY) including the environmental thriller BURN UP, the screen adaptation of Steven Hall's cult novel THE RAW SHARK TEXTS and the adaptation of Terry Pratchett's BROMELIAD TRILOGY as the animated feature film TRUCKERS. His feature film script THE PILGRIMAGE was shortlisted for the BBC Tony Doyle New Writing Award in 2010.
