I think Marc Anthony is a celebrity of some sort in the music field. If your question is about Marc Antony, then I can tell you for sure that he was a distant relative of Julius Caesar, one of Caesar's staunch supporters and was consul at the time of Caesar's murder. Antony owed his political career to Julius Caesar. He was a good subordinate, but a poor leader. It seemed that once he gained power he had difficulty handling it. He was a man more interested in the trappings and perks of power than in the work involved. After Caesar's death he joined Lepidus and Octavian in the seconded triumvirate and he was responsible for the victory over Brutus and Cassius at Philippi. (the only military victory he ever won). When the triumvirs divided up the empire, Antony took the eastern part with the intention of waging war against Parthia, but he was sidetracked by a relationship with Cleopatra of Egypt. This relationship resulted in a civil war which Antony lost and as a consequence he committed suicide. He was also the grandfather of the emperor Claudius, the great grandfather of the emperor Caligula and the great great grandfather of the emperor Nero.
