Foxface was the only character that katniss said she would not trust but all the others are obviously not trusted either. Thresh was half way trusted and peeta was not trusted in the beginning since he was with the careers. Later he was fully trusted by katniss and later loved by her too!

Katniss and Peeta were obviously starving, so the bread helped to ease their hunger for a little while.
