Why do movies take so long to make?

Bollywood movies are so long because of the songs. people enjoy watching long movies in India. Therefore, directors also make long movies.

If you were to read the books you would find that there are many details that are not covered. And since this epic story is so complicated, they need to put as much detail as possible into the movies to make people understand the stories. Myself being a Lord of the Rings fan, I love how long the movies are. They give much more detail and make much more sense than a regular hour and a half movie.

Movies take so long to make because they dont shoot them from the beginning to end so they shoot different parts at a time and actors have to learn the whole skript and if they mess up they have to reshoot the seen so much work and $ goes into making movies too.

I'm sure it took JRR Tolkien years of hard work, thinking, brain-storming, calculating, writing, deleting, editing... to create the masterpiece which he finally succeeded in completing. I think the amount of time it took him to compile the trilogy proves diligence, prudence and a determined spirit on his part; traits which deserve him respect and honor.

It should also be remembered that he had a full time job teaching languages at university. And he had a family to take care of as well. The writing of the book under pressure from the publisher is was a sort chore to him and took some of the enjoyment out of it. He was also obsessed with having it all done correctly and having everything fit together properly. There are ten volumes of writing (The History of Middle Earth) that are all of his notes and re-writes of what eventually became The Lord of the Rings and The Simarillion.

They are very interesting and good movies in my opinion. The story of the trilogy

is very good and the trilogy has alot of action. Therefore people enjoy it, making the movie popular.
