There are many enlisted personnel, we just never meet them because the stories center around the ship's command officers most of the time. Think about it this way, would you want to watch an episode centered around people just following orders during a battle? No, I at least would rather watch the people making all the decisions because I can see the whole story not just a small part of it that trickles down to the enlisted personnel.

Is a teleporter real?

Like in Star Trek, no. The best we've done so far is to teleport information a few meters across a room.

What technology from Star Trek is used today?

Nothing, but there are some things that resemble things in Star Trek. The thing that is important to remember is Star Trek is fiction and the technologies we use are fact. One thing that many people claim was inspired by Star Trek is the cell phone. But that is totally wrong as Bell Labs came up with the idea back in 1947, nineteen years before Star Trek appeared on TV in 1966! But Bell Labs put the project on hold after a few years of work as the vacuum tube technology of the time could not support the requirements of such a system. When the first handheld cell phone was built by Motorola in 1971 it bore no resemblance to anything in Star Trek as it was about the size and weight of a brick and could only run about 1 hour on a battery charge.

In Star Trek bridge commander can you be any ship you want?

Yes and no. The core game ships with 5 or so Federation ships, 2 Klingon Ships, 1 Romulan ship, a few cardassian ships and the rest fall under "Other". However, there are mods available for the game covering almost every sci-fi series, from Stargate to Star Wars to Battlestar Galactica. The amount of Star Trek content and the quality was such that several of the Community's best modders were hired to contribute assets to "Star Trek: Legacy". The modpack I personally recommend if you're a Star Trek fan is the Kobayashimaru 1.0 mod from Bcfiles.com.

Which series is more successful Star Trek or Star Wars?

Star trek is more successful. star wars may have made more money (I am unsure), but I have seen several scientific shows (i.e. Nova science now) and a bunch of scientists/computer programmers have been inspired by star trek. That's an impression that will last much longer than a few houses of george lucas, or some fanboy's star wars blog. (no offense to star wars. I like some of their games a lot.) Thank you for being the first person I know that admits Star Trek was way more succesful. All a have to say is SW=6 movies, 1 ongoing TV show; ST: 11 movies (and counting) and 6 TV shows. To all Star Wars Lovers: Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated.
