he was a priest at a church for the village of dolores , he also gave a fiery speech urging the people of his church to overthrow spanish rule .his speech was called Grito of Dolores ,which also means Cry of Dolores and people who liked his speech marched up toward Mexico city along with him many other people joined them when they marched up they didn't have many weapons the had gardening tools and when the got there they were soon defeated and father hidalgo was captured byt the revolution he produced did not die
