Why didn't supermans parents leave krypton with him?

Well depends on continuity but, in one there was no room for them, but in the other jor-el made enough room for his wife, but she would choose to stick with her husband, even in death. I believe the first is right. hope this helps:)

Jor-el chose Earth as Kal-El's new home. In Superman The Movie, Lara (Kal-el's Kryptonian mother), is skeptical about earth... "But why Earth, Jor-el? They're primatives, thousands of years behind us." Jor-el replies, "he will need that advantage to survive. Their atmosphere will sustain him."

When under Earth's yellow sun, a Kryptonian's molecular cell structure is subject to a "super high" rise in density, granting them superhuman strength, sight, speed, invunerability and flight (their main abilities).

In Superman 2, first Superman, then the three villians, are stripped of their powers as a result of exposure to the "rays of the Red Sun of Krypton." The radiation produced by these rays reduce their molecular density. A Kryptonian did not possess "powers" on Krypton.

Jor-El chose to send his Son to Earth, not only to give him the gift of life, but also because Jor-El knew that while humans were decadent, they were not beyond saving. Kal-El's mission would be to serve and protect humanity while setting human beings an inspirational example to follow.
