Hi, i have worked in a hotel for 2years and enjoy every aspect of this trade. You get fantastic career oppertuninties and the satisfaction you get from interacting with guests and staff is wonderful! okay, i started at the bottom as a kitchen porter, and then moved on to Waiteressing but over that past two years have been given the oppertunity to take on NVQ's and progress through the departments, for example, reception, housekeeping, waiteressing, food and beverage assistant, bar, you name it i have probably done it now. If you want something you need to ask for it and prove that you are suitable to do it! and by having challenges along the way can help your personal management. I must say i absolutely love this job, yes the hours can be long and tiresome, at times, but by knowing that every day can be different, makes me thrive to work harder and get on with it!
