Though it was probably because he was briefly possessed by Voldemort's Horcrux (the locket) while trying to destroy it. You know this because his eyes turn red for a second.

∙ 6y agoYes. He found out in Chamber of Secrets, but he lost the power after the horcrux within him was destroyed. Spoiler for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: He gets it back for the last scene, and throughout the play other Voldemort related abilities pop up.

∙ 8y agoRon was angry because Harry knew that he could talk to snakes and never told him. Harry also noticed that Ron looked scared, until he explained that it is not common for wizards to talk to snakes and was something Salazar Slytherin and his descendants could do.
