Osama bin Laden was a prominent member of the mahojadin(probably spelled wrong). he was rich and gave them alot of money to fight the Russians, he also liased with the USA to help fund and support the Afghan people fight the Russian who were occupying Afghanistan. The Americans stopped Backing the Mahojadin and Osama Bin Laden for some of their torture and war tactics. This left them weak and even though they beat the Russians. The Taliban, then became the biggest clan in Afghanistan. The mahojadin and Osama blame the Americans for leaving them high and dry, weak and the reason they lost power. El Quaida, which means" the Base" was always a militant militia group, Osama started to support them after his downfall. The Taliban returned to old traditional extremism.
