Why were the teletubbies banned?

It was only banned in Poland. In the places where people were pushing for it to be banned, the reasons cited were that it was a bad influence on children, promoted stupidity, promoted homosexuality, or promoted communism. The Ukraine's morality commission said that the Teletubbies created a psychology of losers. Rev. Jerry Falwell in the US accused the Teletubbies of promoting homosexuality and indoctrinating children with that message.

An American website claims the biggest threat of the show is communism. According to the symbolism used by the host, the 4 colors represent four types of communism. The televisions implanted in their abdomens represent control over mass media. Then there are the speakers that come up out of the ground and tell the Teletubbies when they must appear or leave. To the site host, even the message of sharing that is promoted on the show exists to get little kids to be okay with those who work and live responsibly caring for those who refuse to do so.
