No one can know for sure why Disney didn't a Lion King 3, as in a sequel to The Lion King II, other than they possibly had no plans for one. Along with that, it is highly suspected that Disney may never make a new Lion King film at this current time as the current chief of Disney Animation, John Lasseter, stated no more direct-to-DVD sequels to Disney animated films will produced after the release of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.
