At this current time, it is unlikely Disney is going another Lion King film because the Walt Disney Company has not confirmed that any new Lion King film is in production and may never make it as Disney announced that no more sequels toward their theatrical films will made after the release of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.
Hi they may not make The Lion King IV but i am. im a new move producer and writer and i am currently writing the lionking IV. i loved it when it 1st came out and now making one myself

∙ 13y agoThe Lion King 1½ is known as The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata in other countries outside of the United States, but the official title is "1½". If you are referring to a sequel to The Lion King II, then, it is unlikely Disney will make an official Lion King 3 as long as John Lasseter remains the current chief of Disney Animation because he hates Disney sequels as he ended production of some Disney sequels in 2006 and stated The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning will be the last Disney direct-to-video sequel.

∙ 13y agoNo one can know for sure if Disney is ever going to make a Lion King III, as in a sequel to The Lion King II: Simba's Pride as no official source from the Walt Disney Company has confirmed that it is in production. Also, Disney stated no more direct-to-DVD animated sequels will be made after the release of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning. So, it is unlikely at this time if Disney is ever going to make another Lion King film.

∙ 13y agoThere is no official announcements of any new sequels to The Lion King movies. On the contrary it is officially announced as of 2006 (in magazines for example) that the current chief of animation at Walt Disney Animation studios doesn't allow any new sequels. So no, there won't be a new Lion King movie any time soon.

There would be need to be a Lion King 3, then a Lion King 4, and finally a Lion King 5 which will not be coming to theaters anytime soon as Disney has not officially announced any new Lion King films are in production as well Disney stating that no more sequels will be produced towards their theatrical animated films after the release of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.
