As of the newest chapter, he is currently fighting Hollow Ichigo and Zangetsu in one form, so we'll have to keep checking :)
Yes he did mange to at the end because Ichigo was able to over come hollow Ichigo and is now training to stay hollowfied his limit is 12 seconds at the moment and now zangetsu is back instead of Hollow Ichigo . You will find out that Zangetsu and Hollow Ichigo are the same people just in differnt body when u see hollow means he is control when you see zangetsu means he is in control
