Before answering your question, a little detour is required about what is really science:
Science is inductive reasoning.
To explain what inductive reasoning is, I will use an example: All trees loose their leaves at the end of autumn.
How did we come to this conclusion? We observed hundreds of trees at the end of autumn and all lost their leaves. Therefore, because we saw these hundreds trees lose their leaves we assume that all trees loose their leaves.
This inductive reasoning is incorrect because we know that some trees do not loose their leaves [Also known as evergreen].
But the point is:
1> Someone had an idea
2> It was not perfect but he was not afraid to run with it
3> It turned out that the hypothesis [scientific guess] was partially correct.
4> From this other scientists further perfected this theory giving us an understanding of this phenomenon
5> It made us wonder wheter all trees are evergreen
Conclusion about inductive reasoning
Many times what we think is roughly correct, but not entirely.
The whole point of science is to give an understanding of the world and the universe: How it works, what rules apply, and what are exceptions.
Now you could ask: Why this all was necessary to write down?
To answer the rethorical question: So you could understand that science is not like a lightbulb that you just turn on and voila! Everything is perfect! Its a process which is infinite.
Now that you understand what science is I possibly can give you a clue to a benefit of science by making a paralell to the evolution of science.
Science requires critical thinking. This can be linked to the evolution of our brain.
However there is a critical question.
Did we get smarter because we started to think critically, or did we start to think critically because we get smarter?
In both ways we can conclude science has contributed a lot to our mental cognitive thinking AKA Thinking outside the box.
I could endlessly enlist the benefit of science in various areas, such as in medicine it brought us prolonged life, and at the same time new diseases. In Biology we understand now most of the human physiology and the function of many structures.
This list could go on endlessly and it would prove one thing.
Science is an evolution.
Humans with the help of science artificially speeded up their own evolution.
That is the major benefit of science. If you think about all the inventions they can be brought back to three things: Power, Knowledge and Evolution.
Power: There were always those who wanted power and the evolution of science made that possible. Weapons, H-bomb, etc... all goes here
Knowledge: We are a curious race. We always wished to understand how things work. Why? The more you know about something the more you feel in control.
Human physiology, astronomy etc...
Evolution: We got smarter, Things needed to be better. Science came along.
As i have said before: You can go on the internet and find all these wonderful ideas about what is the benefit of science. The list is endless.
There is one key benefit of science however: evolution

You can find examples of benefits derived from science at your local library. You can cite these sources directly from the exact books you use.
Agriculture doesn't necessarily have any great importance to science, but science offers great benefits within agriculture.

Because environmental science involves costs and benefits which, as economic variables, are governed by supply and demand.

dude, its not a proscription drug it doesn't have risks and benefits. :)

The benefits for science have been that we have seen further into space than ever before, we have looked at stars close up, we have given ourselves a bright future thanks to this telescope. Thank you Hubble!!!!!!

Dear Asker, Science is used everywhere, it helps to research it so we know more about life and how things go. The benefits are the answers and theories we get. Hope it helps, <(") Skba (")>
The benefits of taking triple Sciences is that it can land you in any future career that you choose to take.
