The cup may be damaged.
You're talking about holding the temperature of the water, right? As far as containing the liquid, they're about equal...but a styrofoam or double-wall plastic cup would hold temp better than a glass cup which would work better than a single-wall plastic cup.
a styrofoam cup. i tried it on my science project
it depends on what the heck you are talking about......
Hi there the ice pack is like a liquid container is made form plastic and shaped in a mold . The liquid is then added into the pack , not to much or if it freezes and expands it could burst the pack. Then it gets sealed on the factory line with a plastic cap.
If a cup of water is sealed inside a plastic bag and left overnight in a warm area, the heat will cause some of the water to evaporate. The water vapor will then condense on the inner surfaces of the plastic bag, creating droplets. Eventually, you may observe moisture accumulating inside the bag, but the overall amount of liquid water in the cup will remain largely unchanged since the bag is sealed.
Water in a metal cup will freeze faster because metal conducts coldness and energy the most. trust me, I did a project with a metal, plastic, glass, and paper to see which cup would freeze the quickest. Hopefully this answer helped.
put in a small cup that will fit it, put water in the cup, freeze the water, then there!(or buy a small glass cup, melt some plastic put in cup to dry(put the bug in cup first)
A plastic cup is a good conductor of heat, meaning it allows heat to transfer quickly out of the cup and into the water, helping it cool down faster. The plastic material also has less thermal mass than glass or ceramic, so it cools down faster itself, helping to cool the water more efficiently.
Assuming they are the same or similar shape and volume, water in glass would freeze first, then plastic then foam. Foam allows transfer of heat out of water more slowly than plastic and the glass probably has the highest rate of heat radiation of the three.
James wants to find out whether a cup of salt water or a cup of fresh water will freeze more quickly. What is the best way for him to determine this
metal cup because it has insulation
A paper cup typically does not keep water hotter than a plastic cup. Paper is a poor insulator compared to plastic, so heat is more likely to escape from a paper cup, leading to faster cooling of the water inside.
Yes it will .
Freeze it.
Tap water out of a paper cup uses the fewest resources from the environment tap water out of a plastic cup.
The time it takes for half a cup of water to freeze depends on various factors, such as the temperature of the surrounding environment, the initial temperature of the water, and if any agitation or insulation is present. Typically, under standard freezing conditions, it can take a few hours for a half cup of water to freeze in a typical home freezer.
That depends on how hot the water is in the cup. Use the thermometer to measure it and see.
