People act as geologic agents and alter the physical environment. A great example of this is carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. Rates of increase in carbon dioxide are far too numerous. Other examples of human activity that create a long-lasting effect on science and society are evident through the use, or abuse, of Natural Resources. Though, Earth contains hazardous processes such as volcanoes, floods, tsunamis, landslides, and Earthquakes, these are natural processes. As humans, we complicate environmental issues through our rapid population growth. We have created a mutual effect relationship between us and the Earth's natural processes: it not only affects us, we affect it. Daily animal habitats become ruined, we pollute the air with our cars, and we flood our landfills with grand amounts of waste. We have undermined the idea of letting nature take its course because we seem to buzz in when we fill the need: clearing forests, building cities, and constructing dams.
