You can measure a wave either by the physical distance between two similar points (wave length), or by how many similar points pass, in the period of one second. (cycles per second or Hertz)

The relationship between them depends on the speed on the wave through the medium in which they exist.

So for radio waves, they travel at the speed of light which is 300,000,000 metres per second.

To covert from one to the other simply divide 300,000,000 by the known number to give the vaue of the unknown.

eg. 200khz = 200,000 cycles per second. Divide 300,000,000 by 200,000

= 1500

which is in metres.

BBC radio 4 is on 200khz longwave which equals 1500metres.

How is frequency related to wavelength for a given wave?

(frequency) multiplied by (wavelength) = (speed of the wave)

Is speed wavelength and frequency of a wave related by a scientific theory?

No. They're related by the definitions of the wave's speed, wavelength, and frequency.

How are wave'sspeed and wavelength and frequency related?

(Wavelength) x (Frequency) = (the Wave's Speed).

How is a wave's speed related to its frequency and wavelength?

speed = frequency x wavelength

How are frequency speed and wavelength related?

they are related by the equation velocity=frequency*wavelength

How are wave length and wave frequency are related?

velocity = frequency x wavelength

How is frequency wavelength and wave speed related?

The product of (wavelength) x (frequency) is always equal to the wave's speed.

How are amplitude wavelength and frequency related?

The wavelength and frequency of any wave are inversely proportional. Neither of them is related to the wave's amplitude in any way.

How are the frequency and the wavelength of a wave traveling at a constant speed related?

frequency = speed of wave / wavelength so if speed is constant then frequency varies inversely with wavelength

How are wavelength frequency and energy are related?

Energy of light photons is related to frequency as Energy = h(Planck's constant)* frequency Frequency = velocity of wave / wavelength So energy = h * velocity of the wave / wavelength

What three quantities are used to describe a wave?

Amplitude, speed, and wavelength or frequency. (Wavelength and frequency are related by the wave's speed.)

How is the frequency of a wave related toits wave length?

Frequency of the a wave equals its velocity divided by its wavelength.
