If the mold inside a water jug is old or dried on, fill the jug with hot, sudsy water and let it stand for 20-minutes. Pour in 1/3 cup dry, uncooked rice and 1/3 cup baking soda. With the lid tightly closed, shake the bottle several time. The rice will loosen the mold and the baking soda will remove odors. Carefully open the lid, and pour the contents down the drain. Fill the jug half-full of hot water, a drop of dish soap, and shake well. Pour contents out and rinse thoroughly. Allow to air-dry upside down.
Condensation is when a vapor turns into a liquid. That is why you see water droplets on or inside of items in a refrigerator. For instance, take droplets inside a jug of milk. While the milk is sitting out, some of the water content in it evaporates inside the container but does not leave since the lid is on. Then you sit in inside the refrigerator. That vapor turns back into water because the refrigerator is cold, and the liquid runs back down the inside of the jug.
Place the jug in a warm room until the ice has thawed. Or, place the jug in a microwave and use the defrosting settings. Don't stand the jug in very hot water, as the glass may shatter.
Sugar water is denser than plain water. A saturated solution -- it will not absorb one more gram of sugar -- is about 1.83 grams per milliter. Whole milk's density is 1.034 grams per milliliter. Thus a full jug of milk (assuming a thin plastic jug, not a heavy glass container, and no air in the jug) would float on sugar water. How far it would sink depends on the concentration of the sugar solution.

Plastic water jugs should typically be used for no more than 1-2 years, depending on the type of plastic and usage conditions. Over time, plastics can degrade and leach chemicals, especially when exposed to heat or sunlight. Regular inspection for cracks, cloudiness, or odors is essential to ensure the jug remains safe for use. If any signs of wear are evident, it’s best to replace the jug.
A mixture of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water can be used to clean an electric jug. Fill the jug with the mixture and let it sit for some time to loosen any built-up residue or stains. Then, rinse thoroughly with clean water before using the jug again.
I use washing up liquid and hot water.
To replace the spigot on your water jug, first, make sure the jug is empty. Then, unscrew the old spigot and remove it. Next, clean the area around the opening where the spigot goes. Finally, screw on the new spigot tightly and make sure it is secure before filling the jug with water.
Usually they're dishwasher safe. If not, just clean in hot soapy water the same way that you would clean plates/mugs.

A large jug for holding water or any liquid is a Pitcher. Or a Ewer, which is a large jug holding water for washing
There are several ways you could determine the capacity of a milk jug: 1: Fill the milk jug with water and then transfer the water to a graduated measuring jug 2: take a bottle of known volume such as a soda bottle. Fill the soda bottle and transfer its contents to the milk jug to get its approximate capacity 3: weigh the empty milk jug and make a note of the weight. Then, fill the milk jug with water. 1 cubic cm of water weighs 1 gram. Deduct the weight of the empty jug from the weight of the full jug to give the weight of the water inside. If, for example, the water weighs approximately 1000 grams then you have a 1 litre milk jug
To clean any pottery or electric kettle/jug, use a watered down mixture of CITRIC ACID and water. Boil the jug and add the solution, then let cool down before rinsing. Citric Acid is available fron hardware and health food shops. It has no harmfull effects as it is made fron citrus fruits.
how many a quarts of water hold
fill the 5 gallon jug with water then pour the water into the 3 gallon jug until its full then u will have 2 gallons in the 5 gallon jug. then if the jugs both have the same circumference u can just make the water in both jugs level then u will have 2 gallons of water in each jug. pour the water from the 3 gallon jug into the 5 gallon jug. and u should know that 2+2=4 :)
Half a jug as the surface area to volume ratio is reduced therefore heat can escape quicker from the surface
