An ounce is a measurement of weight. If you already know it is an ounce, than that is the weight: 1 ounce. (28.3 grams) The only time this wouldn't be true is if you were using different types of "ounce" such as the Troy ounce which is typically used for precious metals. A troy ounce of gold or silver weighs more than a standard ounce. However if you are discussing a standard ounce, then that is the weight.
Half as much as he did the first time (Same distance, half the weight) Tell him to quit goofing off, and get to work!
You can use 4 pounds as a rough measure. Pounds is a unit of mass/weight. Gallons is a liquid measure. They do not convert cleanly. The density of the liquid being measured can make a big difference. If the liquid is water, there is 8 pounds to a gallon.

That depends on the type material you are referring to. Also, these are two different types of measurements. Gallons is a measure of volume but the other is weight or mass. Please edit your question to include more context or details.
two cartons. if you draw the dimensions of the carton on an xyz plane you can visualize the carton. then draw the inside of the frieght cars dimensions so you can visualize how big of space you have. if you notice, you can actually flip up the carton and it would fit height-wise (y-component) and length-wise (x-component) but it would only fill half because the depth component (z-component) is half of the freight car inside depth-dimension.. so if one carton fills half then two cartons fill the whole thing.
In the US, the standard sizes are a pint, quart, half gallon and gallon.
Pints, quarts, half gallons, gallons and several odd sizes in between. Cartons can be customized to a variety of sizes and there are no mandatory pre sets. The most common in todays market are between 1.5 quarts and 2 quarts (half gallon). In the past the most common carton size was 2 quarts (half gallon). Most companies have begun to shrink from this size and are now in the 1.5 to 1.9 quart range for their carton sizes. Ice cream sizes above and below the most common 1.5 to 1.9 carton sizes are typically sold in lidded cups or tubs (for smaller) or buckets (for a gallon or more) though cartons in the other sizes do exist in some regions.
Two x half gallon cartons is equal to one gallon.
For as long as this ice cream lover can remember, Breyers Ice Cream was sold in half-gallon (64 ounce) cartons. First, Unilever downsized the half-gallon carton to 1.75 quarts (56 ounces), which was a 12.5% reduction. Now, they have downsized the 1.75 quart carton to 1.5 quarts (48 ounces). This means the original half-gallon carton of Breyers is now 25% smaller at 1.5 quarts. The 1.25 quart carton of Breyers Ice Cream can't be too far away.

There are 2 x half gallons in one gallon, so 6 x half gallon cartons is equal to 3 gallons.
