No. In fact Earth is at its farthest point from the sun in early July and at its closest point in January. Earth's axis of rotation is tilted so relative to its orbit, so each hemisphere is alternately tilted toward and away from the sun. When the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun it experiences summer while the Southern Hemisphere, which is tilted away, experiences winter. When a hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, sunlight strikes the surface there at a steeper angle, so the sunlight is less spread out than it would be hitting at a shallow angle. The more concentrated sunlight results in greater heating.
It is hotter in the summer because of the tilt of the Earth on it's axis. The sun is further away but the rays are more direct.
No. It is hotter in the summer because the earth is tilted toward the sun more than it is any other time. In summer the direct rays of the sun is what makes us hotter.
no
the sun is higher in summer because of the way the earth goes around the sun in winter we are abit closer then in summer but it does not have the same effect because off the angle off the earth
During summer, you should wear light coloured clothes because it just reflect heat off. While in winter, dark-coloured clothes should be wear because it absorbs heat, thus lessens the coldness.
Lazy.
The simplest, but by no means the complete answer is that the Earth is "tilted" in relation to the rays of the sun. In Summer, the Northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, and receives more solar energy than it does in the Winter, when it is tilted away from the sun. Sorry, this is really a follow up question. Why does it continue to get hotter in summer when the longest day is at the begining (June 21st N. Hemisphere). You would think June 21st would be the hottest day as the days are getting shorter after that.
Nylon retains heat. Worn during the summer it is hot, even if you are only wearing a short dress or shirt. Cotton is the best to wear at any time. it does not absorb the heat, and allows the body to be cool even during the hottest day. Polyester is the worse. Worn in warm weather it feels as if you are wearing a winter coat.
in the summer because its hotter
Atlanta is hotter than North Carolina during the summer because it is further south and closer to the equator. The closer you are to the equator, the hotter it will be. Especially in Summer months.
Because the sun is closer to the earth during summer - making the overall temperature warmer !
I'm not sure, but I think it's because the sun stays out longer.
It is hotter in the summer because of the tilt of the Earth on it's axis. The sun is further away but the rays are more direct.
Because it is hotter in the summer
Because the hemisphere is closest to the sun during this month
during the summer when the climate is hotter
during the summer when the climate is hotter
During the summer, which is the hottest therefore it's the closest to the sun.
because the earht spins on its axis
Because it is during the summer season that the earth is closest to the sun
