No! Darwin theory states that we evolved from single celled organisms that came from the ocean. The definition of evolve is: To develop or change gradually. The only reason that a species evolves is to adapt to a changing environment. So since there are still single celled organisms in the ocean and they are thriving I find it hard to believe that Darwin's theory is correct. As far as new science discoveries go to prove Darwin's theory that we evolved from these organisms there has been no proof. Yes they can prove that certain species of turtles have evolved, but that is only because they had to adapt. There are so many "gray" areas that science cannot explain. Kinda seems like proof of a greater power don't you think? But then that's my opinion. :-)

Answer

Yes, if you mean, is the Theory of Evolution or Modern Evolutionary Synthesis correct, then yes it is correct. If you mean is Darwin's theory of Natural Selection correct, then yes it is correct. There is much evidence in support of Evolution, from evolving bacteria in laboratories to the fossil record, to the homology of DNA across all life. Science is like prophecy, feeling in the blackness of unknowing for an answer. And science can find answers, really find answers by the scientific method of actually testing hypotheses. Science can never prove anything, only accumulate support and years of non-refutation for a hypothesis. In the case of Evolution, the support and non-refutation are all there and the hypothesis has been promoted to a theory. In the world of 'feeling in the blackness', Darwin predicted that humans arose from African apes (apes that were African ancestors of gorillas, chimpanzees and humans) and that ape-human transitional fossils should be found in Africa. And indeed, that is where ape-human transitional fossils were found and I am sure by now there are many studies showing the close relationship (by DNA) of chimpanzees, gorillas and humans. If the predictions of this 'feeling in the blackness' world of unknowing turn out to be correct, I think that is a great vindication and support for a theory. Another happened with the prediction of where a fish-tetrapod fossil should be found. And that fish-tetrapod transition was found exactly where predicted and is now called Tiktaalik. And there are many more such supports of Darwin's theory.
