Mixtures with components of different densities can be effectively separated using floating and settling. For example, mixtures of oil and water can be separated by allowing the oil to float on top and then skimming it off, while heavier particles settle at the bottom. This method takes advantage of the natural tendency of substances with different densities to separate based on gravity.
Suspensions are mixtures when fine particles of a solid are dispersed in a liquid but do not dissolve in it, leading to a mixture in which the solid particles are suspended and do not settle out easily.
Four types of Heterogeneous mixtures are- Cake mix, This is known as a Mechanical Mixture. Rubbing Alcohol, This Mixture is an example of a Solution. Mud, Is type of Mixture called a Suspension. Mayonnaise, Is an example of a Colloidal Mixture
