What are the advantages and disadvantages of modern lifestyle?

In this swift moving world , the life style has changed a lot . As a coin has two sides , the modern life style also has both brighter and darker side . Modern life style has come across with new technologies and also broadens the horizon of one's knowledge.In this essay , I would like to throw light on the positive and negative sides of the modern life style.

The brighter side of modern life style is mainly the development of a country . The development of technology make it easier for people to communicate,to travel,to work and so on. To illustrate,the computers & mobile phones makes it easier for us to communicate all over the world.Also in the modern life , education has developed with the use of internet .

While entering into the darker side, due to modern life style , the culture and tradition is fading off.The traditonal food,clothes etc are slipping off from our minds.Now people are depending on fast food which makes their health in peril and debilitating.Technology also has reduced the interaction with family members. Another problem is the environmental damages like air pollution,water pollution and noise pollution.

To put up in a nut shell , modern life style has both positive and negative sides . From my point of view , modern life style is brighter than darker, but we have to think about how to use it properly withour causing any damage to our life.

The advantage of having an electric generator is that you don't have to worry about spending a small fortune for gas. However its advantage is also its disadvantage, in the event of a power outage, there will not be any electricity to run the generator.

The disadvantage is that people are being laid off of their jobs because they are no longer needed because of the machines. Also, when you have a problem you cannot talk to the machine to know what is wrong and need to have special people to help you fix the problem.

We do our best to solve the disadvantages as we go along. One disadvantage of modern technology is that we are pumping 30 billion tons of fossil CO2 into our atmosphere each year, a greenhouse gas linked to global temperature increases. The effects of this problem are both long term and cumulative, and many people may not realize the full extent of this problem during their life time.

If the advantages did not outweigh the disadvantages, most people would not be so quick to adopt new, beneficial technologies. Some groups, such as the Amish, do not.

For the generation of nuclear power little raw material is needed to generate a lot of electric energy. This is an advantage, because the supply of the raw material will be enough for quite a time. A very big disadvantage is that the raw material for nuclear power, uranium, is very radio-active. Also the used rods and other used materials stay radio-active for ages. at a nuclear power plant as Tsjernobylwe have seen how dangerous this type of energy-generation can be. This is the major reason why environmental groups (like Greenpeace) are against this form of energy-winning.
