It was in 1908 that Hans Geiger (with Earnest Rutherford) invented the machine that bears his name. This early unit was used to detect alpha particles. Walther Müller collaborated with Geiger to develop it further in 1928, and this newer unit could detect different kinds of ionizing radiation. A link can be found below.
If I remember he changed Rutherford's atomic model
They discovered that the central part of an atom is positive and is surrounded by negative electrons.
the telephone
he invented a house
him and his son helped invent the compound microscope by putting two lenses together warning they did not invent the microscope but did invent the compound microscope
His contribution was the electric currents create magnetic fields, an important aspect of electromagnetism...
Dmitri Ivanenko proposed the idea of a neutron and proton nucleus in 1932, the nucleus was itself discovered in 1911 by Ernest Rutherford while reviewing the famous Geiger--Marsden experiment of a few years previous.
they invent cheese
they did something about cells......I think -1950. Dutch eyeglass makers, such as Zacharias Janssen ( exact dates unknown ), invent the first compound microscopes, by lining up two lenses to produce extra-large images.
the geiger counter
The Geiger counter was originally invented by Hans Geiger. The Geiger counter is a device that measures the relative radioactivity of a sample.
He invented the Geiger counter.

Hans Geiger died on September 24, 1945 at the age of 62.
Hans Geiger, along with Ernest Rutherford, invented the Geiger counter, which is a detector for ionizing radiation. Use the links below for more information.
