He is sometimes called the discoverer of protons. He did experiments with cathode ray tubes, which knock electrons off atoms and attract them to a positively-charged electrode (the cathode). He noticed that a second stream of particles was attracted to the negatively-charged electrode (the anode), so he called them anode rays. However, it was left to one of his students to discover that these rays were sometimes pure protons. His experiments gave him a picture of atomic structure that was decades ahead of its time, and similar to what we know today. However, he did not follow up on his work, and was largely ignored by his peers.

What theories were created because Eugen Goldstein?

Eugen Goldstein is best known for his work in the field of atomic physics and his discovery of canal rays, which are positively charged particles. His findings contributed to the development of theories regarding the structure of the atom, particularly the existence of protons and the understanding of ionization processes. Goldstein's work laid the groundwork for later theories in atomic models, influencing the development of quantum mechanics and the understanding of atomic structure as it relates to chemical behavior.

What subatomic particle contributes alomst no weight to an atom?

The subatomic particles that contribute most almost no weight to an atom are electrons at various energy levels. Isotopes of the same element differ from each other only by the number of neutrons.

Where is a Neutral particle an atom?

A neutral particle in an atom is typically found in the nucleus, such as a neutron. Neutrons have no charge and contribute to the atomic mass of the atom.

Who discover that What is inside the atom?

Sir J.J Thomson first discovered that atoms had a negatively charged particle called an "ELECTRON". Afterwards , Goldstein discovered "PROTONS", the positively charged particles.

How do hydrogen neutrons contribute to the stability and properties of an atom?

Hydrogen neutrons contribute to the stability and properties of an atom by helping to balance the positive charge of the protons in the nucleus. Neutrons also play a role in determining the mass of the atom and can affect its stability by influencing the nuclear forces within the nucleus.
