They were convinced that computers would crash, and it would lead to pandemonium amongst people because we are so dependent on computers. Scientists were convinced that the computers would not be able to recognize the time change of the new millennium, as they had only invented computers to count up to 99, and feared that systems would crash as the clock counted over to 00

Why do historians sometimes draw different conclusions about the same event?

Historians have different views about the same event because of bias, gender, because of personal background., etc. And example of this would be the holocaust. As we all know the Holocaust did happen. but some people will try to say no its not real and it did not happen. it just all depends on the evidence and you and what you are willing to believe!~K.Zebra~

What is scientific term for possiblelikelyor probable?

Philosophically, I tend to say that all things are possible, but scientifically there are initial conditions that make all but one result unlikely.Probability is a measure or estimation of how likely it is that something will happen or that a statement is true. Probabilities are given a value between 0 (0% chance or will not happen) and 1 (100% chance or will happen). The higher the degree of probability, the more likely the event is to happen.

What did nasa say is going to happen in the year 2012?

NASA did not say *anything* is going to happen. It is just the Mayan's "Millennium", so to speak, and will wind up being a bigger wet firecracker than Y2K. on December 12 2012 the earth is going to have a polar shift which no one really knows what will happen after that NASA did not say this, which is what was asked. No one who knows anything about science thinks that 2012 will have a polar shift or anything else.

Is it proper English to say what it is is?

'What if...? requires more information, a condition.Examples# 'What if it never rained?' means 'What would happen if it never rained?' # What if I forget my password? means 'What would happen if I forget my password.Usage:The conditional expression 'What if ...(+ condition) ' is often used. It is proper English. It means 'What would happen if ...(condition)?'The full expression can be said, i.e. What would happen if ...(+ condition)..? or the words 'would happen' can be omitted because they are implied in the question.
