Fundamentalist Muslims are the largest group who reject Darwin's theory. Fundamentalist Christians, some Hindus, and other religious groups also reject it.

ID proponents who reject evolution tend to also be predominantly religiously motivated in their stance.

From the beginning, the teaching of evolutionary theory has been opposed by people with a religious or political agenda. Opposition from scientific circles ceased shortly after the theory was proposed, when it became accepted by the scientific community.

Some faiths believe in Gods creation only.

Some churches believe that Darwin's hypothesis are correct at least partially.

Some faiths believe in evolution theory and in God as its beginning.

So, you cannot point to particular group. Additionally his theory was used also in communist countries to discriminate religious people to justify killings and to compensate for missing the religion among communists to create.

Your question already impose that prejudgment, because you would not ask this same question about any other scientist :-)

So the problem is why would you ask the question like that ?

Anyway, there are some new theories and researches, which prove that Darwin's theory had a a lot of flaws. Recent finding proved that some species lived at this same time and place therefore they could not decent from each other.

New theory points out that evolution was possible by internal will, what can modify your genes since they are energy particles as well and can be modified by willingness and not always by natural selection.

How had the idea of elements change from the days of van Helmont to the times of Hales and Ingenhousz?

This is sort of a simile to evolution. The thoughts of our origins has changed through the years. Many believe because of God and many people believe evolution. The process of evolution has changed since Charles Darwin and his discovery. Same in this situation. The atomic theory (or element per say) has been reviewed and revised and has been changed from Aristotle to Rutherford. Scientists test one another's theories and review, retry, and experiment to test theories. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PLEASE DO NOT PLAGIARIZE. I WOULD GLADLY APPRECIATE THAT AND IT WILL KEEP YOU OUT OF TROUBLE!! :) THANKS :D

It is not forbidden by Catholicism to believe in evolution.
