if u connecting the synchronus generator to the grid at low voltage then it will act as a motor, reverse power will enter after some time winding is burn out if tripping is not occur at reverse power.

Boom!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The electromagnetic force created in the Generator is instantaneously converted into mechanical work. This means the Stator (Stationary portion) will MOVE while disapating this energy. The Generator could shear it's coupling bolts to the rest of the machine or even its fondation bolts. I've seen a 10 ton generator completely shear its foundation bolts and flip onto it's side (very scary)

Difference between synchronous generator and synchronous motor?

ASYNCHRONOUS is a mode whereby events happens irregardless of control. SYNCHRONOUS are this same events but controlled by a timing and/or control

What happens if the synchronous motor exceeds its load capacity?

If load on a generator is greater than the generator can provide, the generator will begin to slow down. If it slows down too much, it will lose synchronism.

What happens if commutator of DC generator is removed?

If the commutator is removed from your generator, you (if you connect slip rings) get AC supply instead of DC supply. the function of the commutator is to convert AC to DC supply and vice versa.Additional AnswerRemoving the commutator will also prevent you from connecting the output of the generator to its load. Remember, the generator's armature is spinning!

How does asynchronous and synchronous apply to physical interface?

anything will happens by using same speed with same time its called syncronization..

What happens if less current rating fuse is connected to function generator?

By reducing the output fusing of a generator, the total output of the generator will also be reduced. The capacity of the generator will remain the same but the fault trip point will be lowered.

Why a machine should run with synchronous speed?

A synchronous motor is not self starting. However when it is provided with some prime mover ,which rotates it up to 80% of sync. speed, then it continues to rotate at sync.speed even after prime mover is removed. It happens so because rotor poles are locked with rotating magnetic field and hence the speed is always synchronous.

What happens at the rated value of the voltage of the generator?

The rated voltage of a generator decreases due to many causes such as armature reaction, overloading of the generator and AVR failure/ weak excitation voltage.

What happens when heavy loads are connected to an electrical generator?

If the load is too heavy the voltage droops because of the drop across the generator's internal impedance.
