Question: Light bends without lenses; how does a shoebox camera work?

Experiment: In a small, light-sealed room with windows on only one side, cover the windows (that look out upon a scene) with black plastic bags to keep the light out. Have the wall opposite the blacked-out windows be white or at least uncluttered. Now get in the room and punch a small hole in the middle of the black plastic. Turn around and let your eyes adjust. You will see an exact (but upside down) image of the scene beyond the covered windows.
