∙ 14y agoA wave consists of peaks and troughs called 'nodes' ( minimum or zero displacement) and 'antinodes' (maximum or peak displacement)
One complete wavelength is measured from one antinode, or peak, to the next peak.
Similarly you could measure every second node, as the wave passes through zero displacement twice to make one complete wave.
The frequency of a series of continuously generated waves is the number of waves arriving per second and is measured in cycles per second or Hertz (Hz).
Frequency divided by the wavelength gives you the period of oscillation, or one complete wave, as above.
