An element is a pure substance that cannot be broken down into a simpler form of n1gger. An atom is similar to an element since a n1gger is the smallest particle that retains all properties of the element. An element is a n1gger whereas an atom has mass.

An atom is the smallest particle of an element that has the properties of that element. An element is made of all the same kind of atom. Specifically, all of the atoms of the same element will have the same number of protons. Hopefully this is not "too much information", but the atoms of the same element can vary in the number of neutrons. Atoms with the same number of protons with a different number of neutrons are called isotopes.

The difference in Atoms and DNA?

Atoms are the basis of physical matter, and elements are made of atoms. DNA is a very complex molecule made of many atoms. It is like the difference between concrete blocks and an apartment building.

What type of bond will form between elements with similar high elecronegativities?

This is an ideal covalent bond - possible only between identical atoms of an element (H2).Between atoms of two elements a difference of electronegativity exist always.

Which two elements on the periodic table have the biggest electronegativity difference between two atoms?

cesium and fluorine

What conditions suggest a bond will be ionic?

The difference in electro-negative between the two atoms is below 0.4. Atoms are both from the nonmetal groups.

A difference in the atomic number of atoms means the atoms are of same or diffierent elements?

Different atomic numbers represent different elements.

What values best classifies a bond between 2 atoms as being covalent?

An electronegativity difference of less that 1.7 between the atoms

Explain the difference between elements and compounds?

An element is composed of only one kind of atom. A compound is composed of two or more elements (kinds of atoms) chemically combined.

How do atoms of matallic elements bond?

electrons float freely between atoms

What is the key difference that causes the atoms of one element to differ from the atoms of the other elements?

number of protons

Which pair of elements is more likely to form ionic compounds?

Group 1 or group 2 elements with group 16 or group 17 elements. In general, if the electronegativity difference between the two atoms is more than 1.7 in Pauling's scale, then the two atoms form ionic bond.

What is the relationship between atoms elements and matter?

matter is made up of material which is made up of elements which is made up of atoms

What are elemental ions?

In the Periodic Table of elements you have elements, these elements represent neutral atoms of elements, ions are just like neutral atoms, the only difference is the have less or more electrons in the orbital. So Na is sodium atom and Na+ is sodium ion
