A: That's a weird question. Maybe water or the sun.

A: The sun is more like the fuel source. The mechanism that drives the changes in weather are complex and extremely interesting. Bodies of water make moisture available. The sun drives this moisture into the air. Wind is created by parts of our planet being warmer then others. The fact that the planet rotates stirs the pot up. The result is a marvelously complex system of ever changing patterns.

We are just beginning to understand how this whole thing works. There are to be cycles also. Short cycles of as little as 11 years have been scene. Cycles as long as 100K years are also being observed. The current warming we have seen since 1979 is one example, as is the cooling of the 70's.

What is an engine that drives a car?

Internal combustion in almost all cases.

What type of energy drives the weather?

The primary energy source that drives weather is solar energy from the sun. This energy heats the Earth's surface, causing air to rise and creating atmospheric circulation patterns that lead to the formation of weather systems like winds, clouds, and precipitation.

What drives the changes in the weather?

The energy input from the Sun.

Is a tornado related to the sun?

Not directly. However, as with all weather events, the energy that drives tornadoes ultimately comes from the sun.

What is primary energy source that drives weather in terrestrial planets?

The primary energy source that drives weather on terrestrial planets like Earth is the Sun. Solar energy drives processes such as the water cycle, which in turn influences atmospheric circulation, temperature patterns, and weather phenomena.

What is the engine that drives atmospheric circulation?

The engine that drives atmospheric circulation is the sun - which provides the energy for the circulation.

What main force creates and drives your weather on earth?

Centrifugal

What is the original source of energy that drives changes in the weather?

the Sun

What is the major source of energy that drives weather on earth?

The Sun

What is the main source of energy that drives weather and climate?

The main source of energy that drives weather and climate is the sun. Solar radiation heats the Earth's surface, creating temperature differences that lead to the development of weather patterns and climate systems. This energy drives processes such as evaporation, convection, and atmospheric circulation, influencing global weather patterns and climate dynamics.

What is the primary source that drives weather events?

The primary source that drives weather events is the energy from the sun. The uneven heating of the Earth's surface by the sun creates variances in temperature, leading to the formation of weather patterns such as winds, storms, and precipitation.

Which of the following factors drives all the weather on Earth including large scale storms and local weather systems?

The primary factor that drives all weather on Earth, including large-scale storms and local weather systems, is the uneven heating of the Earth's surface by the Sun. This differential heating creates variances in temperature and pressure, leading to the movement of air masses and the formation of weather patterns.
