∙ 13y agoIn general, the two kinds of magnets are the permanent magnet and the electromagnet. The former is a magnet "all the time" like the ones that we might stick on our fridge. The latter is one that is the result of a DC current, and that means that as long as the current flows, there is a magnetic field. No current equals no field.
