I believe that the larger the hot water tank, the greater is the need for an expansion tank. Water expands as it is heated. This is why all hydronic heating systems require an expansion tank. A water heater would need expansion tank when a backflow preventer or check valve is installed in domestic cold water line directly after water meter. Some areas require backflow prevention, but not all. Have to check with local Plumbing authority about that.
Yes - lakes, reservoirs, water tanks.
Astronauts carry air tanks with them that contain mostly pressurized oxygen and nitrogen. Their suits circulate the air to their helmets and throughout their entire suit so that they can breathe. They breath threw oxygen tanks tied to their backs. If an astronaut was to take it off and try to breath, he/she would start to choke and die.
The Vacuole stores food water and waste.
It is a second containment in case the first fails. It could relate to animal fences or tanks for chemicals.
A submarine has buoyancy tanks along its length. To dive or sink these are filled with water, which enters through valves, so the vessel becomes heavier. Its speed of descent can be controlled by the amount of water in the tanks and also by aerilons (small wings) which can be tilted to steepen the dive. There is obviously a depth limit for each submarine. To surface the vessel blows the water out with compressed air, the vessel gets lighter (more buoyant) and rises to the surface.
Expansion tanks are not always required for water heaters, but they can help prevent pressure buildup in the system, especially in closed-loop systems. It is recommended to consult with a professional to determine if an expansion tank is necessary for your specific water heater setup.

Thermal expansion of liquids is used in various applications such as thermometers, thermostats, and automotive temperature sensors. It is also utilized in the design of expansion tanks in heating systems to accommodate the volume changes of the liquid as it heats up. Additionally, thermal expansion is important in the study of thermodynamics and heat transfer processes.
Typically 1 gallon tanks are far too small for even flat submersible heaters as the ambient temperature in the location where you keep it should warm it up (or cool it down!).If you are unable to keep an even temperature, they do make tiny flat heaters for 2.5 to 5 gallon tanks
Thermal expansion of liquids is used in devices such as thermometers and thermostats to measure temperature changes. It is also utilized in the design of pipelines and storage tanks to account for volume changes due to temperature variations, preventing damage or leaks. Additionally, this phenomenon is harnessed in systems like hot water heating to ensure efficient transfer of thermal energy.
Yes, they are GAS tanks, NOT electrical
Anode rods are used in RV and home hot water heaters. Aluminum tanks are not required to have an anode rod where steel tanks usually are.
On-demand hot water tanks, also known as tankless water heaters, offer several benefits compared to traditional water heaters. These include energy efficiency, cost savings on utility bills, longer lifespan, and a continuous supply of hot water. Tankless water heaters also take up less space and have lower maintenance requirements.
Lochinvar is a website on the internet. Some of the products sold there are commercial solar systems, boilers, water heaters, pool and spa heaters, package systems, and tanks.
Typically heaters are needed for tropical fish tanks. However, if you could guarantee the room temperature where the tank is located will be maintained at the needed temperature for your fish, then you don't need a heater. Most tropical tanks need to be maintained at temperatures of 72 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the types of fish in the tank.
Immersion heaters are used for heating water in a hot water tank. Immersion heaters are usually controlled by thermostat and they will heat your water to a set temperature for as long as you leave it on that setting, or you can have a timer set. It is usually an expensive way to heat water compared to central heating systems with hot water circuits.
There are several ways you can do it, depending on the size of the tank. In larger tanks (1-5 gallons) you can use very small aquarium heaters. In much smaller tanks, you can either put them in a warm room, put them close to a light or heat source, or use a water bath heated by a heater. Mini heaters can be purchased online at www.bigalsonline.com
