The kidney is "designed" to 1) not leak proteins

and 2) to reabsorb any that do get into the urine.

How does the kidney helps in controlling the concentration of substance?

The kidney is a filter system for the blood. If the concentration of a substance is too high (i.e. there are drugs in the blood), then the kidney filters all of that out of the blood to form urine.

What the tube to the bladder do?

We have two kidneys and these filter the blood creating urine. The urine drains from each kidney to the urinary bladder via the Ureter,,,one from each kidney. The bladder then drains the urine out along a tube called the Urethra. The urethra is shorter in the female than in the male for obvious reasons. Hope this helps.

Function of the collecting duct of the kidneys?

The collecting duct system is the final component of the kidney to influence the body's electrolyte and fluid balance. In humans, the system accounts for 4-5 percent of the kidney's reabsorption of sodium and 5% of the kidney's reabsorption of water. At times of extreme dehydration, over 24% of the filtered water may be reabsorbed in the collecting duct system. Basically, it collects the urine that a nephron (a unit of kidney that filters) filters.

What the factors effecting the amount of urine released by the body?

there are no certain factors. it only depends on the function of kidney. if u dink excess water than the body's need you will have excess urine if not than you will have limited amount of urine. yes a disease known as diabetes Mellitus this is the case where there is excess loss of water from the body

What type of problem most commonly affects the urinary system organs?

There are several different types of kidney disease. These include inflammation of the filtering parts of the kidney (called glomerulonephritis), polycystic kidney disease, an inherited genetic disorder where the kidney tissues become replaced by cysts, and scarring of the kidney tissues caused by backflow of the urine from the bladder (called reflux nephropathy), which is caused by structural defects. Diabetic kidney disease which damages the kidneys' filtering membranes, and kidney disease due to high blood pressure are other forms of kidney disease

Does protein enter the urine?

No, but if it is it can show that there is kidney problems, such as kidney disease

Does proteinuria itself cause further kidney damage or is it just a symptom?

Protein is a relatively large molecule, so when it is present in the urine, it can mean that the glomeruli in the kidney are damaged. The glomeruli filter the blood to remove toxins, and are expected to filter even smaller molecules, so seeing large protein molecules through is not good news. But protein in the urine can be there for reasons other than kidney damage. It can be a sign of a urinary tract infection, for instance.

What happens when there is to much protein in a horses diet?

Excessive protein in a horse's diet can result in kidney damage or outright destruction resulting in death. If the excess is mild, the protein is usually successfully excreted in the urine.

what does protein in your kidneys mean?

This question is slightly imprecise in its phrasing. All human cells and organs contain protein, so it is inevitable that kidneys contain protein; you cannot have kidneys without protein. However, what you are probably thinking of is the protein albumen, leaking from the kidneys into the urine. That is a sign of kidney damage, probably caused by a kidney stone.

Is protein in normal urine?

Protein should not be found in the urine. Cause it may mean that your kidney is having a problem with its filtering of substances like protein and BUN.

What is micro albumin?

Micro: Tiny, very small amount. Albumin: A protein playing a very important role in the blood. A microalbumin test checks urine for the presence of a protein called albumin. Albumin is normally found in the blood and filtered by the kidneys. When the kidneys are working properly, albumin is not present in the urine. However, when the kidneys are damaged, small amounts of albumin leak into the urine. This condition is called microalbuminuria. Microalbuminuria is most often caused by kidney damage from diabetes. However, many other conditions can lead to kidney damage, such as high blood pressure, heart failure, cirrhosis, or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). If early kidney damage is not treated, larger amounts of albumin and protein may leak into the urine. This condition is called macroalbuminuria or proteinuria. When the kidneys spill protein, it can mean serious kidney damage is present. This can lead to chronic kidney disease. A microalbumin urine test can be done on a sample of urine collected randomly (usually after the first time you urinate in the morning), a sample collected over a 24-hour period, or a sample collected over a specific period of time, such as 4 hours or overnight. A microalbumin urine test is done to check for protein (albumin) in the urine. Early detection may change treatment in an effort to preserve as much kidney function as possible.

What does blood and protein in a urine sample mean?

Kidney problems maybe

Is protein bad in a drug test?

large amounts of Protein in a urine sample can be a symptom of kidney malfunction.

What is protein urine?

Not a good sign it indicates your blood is not being filtered properly which is your kidneys job if you have protein in your urine may be an indication of kidney failure

Abnormally high concentration of protein in the urine?

High protein levels in urine (proteinuria or microalbuminuria) can be normal in young people or those who exercise quite often. If you are male, a urine test will show the presence of urine if you have ejaculated either from intercourse or masturbation up to 12 hours prior to the test. If the above cases do not apply, protein the the urine is usually a tell tale sign of kidney damage due to diabetes.

Is one gram of protein in urine bad?

Small amounts of protein usually aren't a cause for concern. Larger amounts of protein in the urine may indicate a kidney problem. Protein is often found in the urine of young people after they exorcise.

What is the presence of the protein albumin in the urine and is a sign of impaired kidney function?

Albuminuria
