Frequency, measured in Hertz, in alternating currents, is a measure of the speed of cyclic change in the flow of electricity. AC Electricity in the US is generated at 60 cycles per second (Europe is 50 Hertz). Generators in order to connect to an electrical grid must match frequency with the grid before closing the field switch. Equipment using electricity is designed to operate at 60Hz in the US. Electric motors connected to the grid will spin at a fraction of the cyclic speed (example: 600 rpm, 1800 rpm or 3600 rpm) .
note: Variable speed motors run power through rectifiers to vary the frequency thus changing their speeds throughout a wide spectrum. DC electric motors have independent power sources and can run at variable speeds because there is no alternating current cycle.

It is not so much the volume of the sound as the frequency as well. Sound at the wrong frequency can be played as loud as you like and it will not break the glass. The sound needs to be the same frequency as the resonant frequency of the glass (tap the glass, that note is it's resonant frequency). Once the resonant frequency has been found, it does not take much volume at all, even humans can do it, albeit trained singers (see Mythbusters).
Hertz means cycles per second. That is its' frequency.

the wavelength changes when the frequency changes if the wavelengths are smaller and thinner then the frequency is high, when the frequency is slow then the wavelengths is larger and wider. if the frequency is constant then the wavelength is a normal size
