people of Darwin's time couldn't accept his theory because they didnt believe in adaptation which has to do with evolution. Also because Darwin couldn't explain it in detail and how it works therefore his argument was weak

Darwins theory of evolution views at the time of his work and social forces that led to support for the theory?

There is no proven theory of evolution only the physical evidence of what Chuck Norris has allowed to live.

Before a new scientific theory is generally accepted what must happen?

Before a new scientific theory is generally accepted, it must undergo rigorous testing and validation through experimentation and observation. Peer review is essential, where other experts evaluate the research for its methodology, accuracy, and reproducibility. Additionally, the theory should demonstrate explanatory power and consistency with existing knowledge, ideally being able to predict new phenomena. Only after these criteria are met and the scientific community reaches a consensus can the theory gain acceptance.

What impact did Charles Darwin have on the world of science?

Charles Darwin came up with not only the theory of evolution but also the theory of natural selection. Darwin met much controversy for his assertion that man evolved from a lesser animal species because it contradicted the then-accepted religious explanation of human creation by God.

What explains how variations can lead to changes in a species?

variatio brings about evolutionary change with in species as over millions of years the have to adapt to the ever changing habbitats. take the horse for example millions of years ago it used to have multiple toes.yet over millions of years it has evolved to only have one toe

Why was Charles Darwin's theory of evolution not accepted at the time?

The main reason why Charles Darwin's theory of evolution was not accepted was because it was totally new. People never thought that animals branched down from older species. During his time, people thought that the reason why animals or other species existed was because it was god will. Other people believed in spontaneous birth. This was a belief that living things could be born from nothing. Also, most people were Christian, and Darwin was threatening the validity of the Bible. It would have been mad for people back then, the fact that they always relied on the Bible as fact, and suddenly there was other ideas to consider

Who devolped group theory?

The initial work on Group Theory was carried out by Evariste Galois, but sadly heis work was not accepted by mathematicians of the time and was published only after his death (1832).

Why science cannot accept evolution?

Evolution is a widely accepted scientific theory, but it is still a theory. It cannot be absolutely proven, it can only be supported by evidence. There are unknown facts about the theory, such as how/where the first cell(s) originated.

What was the accepted belief about theory of gravity?

The accepted belief about the theory of gravity before Isaac Newton was that objects fell because they were seeking their natural place in the universe. Newton's theory of gravity proposed that objects are attracted to each other due to a force of gravity that acts at a distance, explaining not only why objects fall but also the motion of celestial bodies.

Who discovered set theory?

Discoverer of a particular mathematical concept is hard to say as a certain concept is accepted or emerged after many researches. But for set theory as far as we know there is only a single discoverer named Georg Cantor.

Why are patterns important to scientific theory?

When developing a theory, finding patterns increase its credibility. For example, evolution. It started as a mere theory. It grew and became widely accepted as fact but only because we can find patterns in evolution, particular traits being continued on through generations.

How is the example of peppered moths different from Darwins theory?

The example of peppered moths is not really different from Darwin's theory, it is the same concept. The only difference is that peppered moths live in the same habitat, where as Darwin's finches live in different habitats, which drove the evolution of their different beak shapes. The peppered moths have adapted to blend into their environment so they're not as easily caught.

Why wasn't Wegener's theory of Pangaea accepted at first?

His idea was not accepted because people back then did not believe that the plates could move. They also thought you could fall off the Earth but that is a different question. The theory was put forward first by Abraham Orthelius but was fully developed by Alfred Wegner. His theory was not thought of because people thought it was not possible for the tectonic plates of the earth to move.

What couldn't be explained by Darwins theory of evolution?

Evolution only deals with the changes within populations of organisms. All other sciences, including Astronomy and Cosmology, are mostly unconcerned with the theory. Otherwise, the theory was, and is, completely sound.
