According to wikipedia it says its Russia is the most populous European nation and rank 2 goes to Turkey. However some consider both Turkey and Russia as not being European countries. But rather they are Eurasian countries. There's a big difference. Among the proper European countries, as of 2022, the most populous is Germany at ~83 million people and rank 2 being France at ~68 million.
