They are Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Australia, Asia and Antarctica.

Asia is the world's largest continent in world

Africa is the second-largest continent in the world

North America is the third largest continent.

South America is the fourth-largest continent

Europe is the second smallest continent in the world.

Australia is the smallest continent in the world

To be really technical, there are really just 5 continents:

  • America
  • Africa
  • Euro-Asia
  • Australia
  • Antarctica

A continent is know as a large mass of land (Australia) or continuous mass of land. There are 5 continents but in the past there were 4 until Africa was divided. Europe is technically not a continent. The continuous land masses are America, Euro-Africa-Asia, Antarctica. North America and South America, in reality is one. The terms North, Central, South was used to divide the hemisphere as coordinates points. This is why the term America applies to each division. Many believe Africa was divided by the Suez Canal which is why it be came 5 continents and many believe the Panama Canal divides the American continent and Europe is divided from Asia which makes 7 continents.
