Ok example of application of central place theory is shown in Austrlias, to a certain.
Based on the central place theory, There will be one highest order center in a specified area ,providing highest order goods, as well as low order one.In Australia, one highest order centre could be found in different region. For exampla Melbourne in the Victoria area, Sydney in the New South Wales area and Adelaide in the Souther Australia. Moreover , as what the theory suggested, those highest order centers are all surrounded by lower oder centres. All these examples have shown the hierarchy pattern of the Central place theory.
However, there are some ideas suggested could not be applied in reality. For example, the theory suggested that consumers would choose the closest center providing what they need in order to minimize the transport cost. However , with growing attractiveness of those high order centres , for example a lot of multi goods shopping centers, people may sometimes bypassed those middle order centers and jump directly to those highest order centers even things they want could also be found in those middle order one.
Indeed there are a lot assumption suggested by the theory could not be applied in reality.. but there are still some which could be found in some countries, to a little extent only
