The Pacific Northwest geography starts at the western edge of the land, where the land meets the Pacific Ocean. From there the land rises to the peak of the Cascade Mountains, then drops to the fertile valleys of central Oregon and Washington. East of that the land gets flatter, with occasional mountains such as the Wallowa's, until it finally runs up against the Rockies.
There are two states that makeup the Pacific north west. These states include Oregon, as well as Washington. Vancouver, Canada is also considered the Pacific north west.
The Pacific Northwest did not heavily rely on farming due to the region's abundant natural resources like fish, game, and timber, which supported a more hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Additionally, the climate and terrain in some parts of the Pacific Northwest made it less suitable for traditional agriculture practiced in other regions. The Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest developed complex social structures and economic systems based on these resources rather than agriculture.

Life in the Pacific Northwest historically involved a strong connection to nature, with Native American tribes relying on fishing, hunting, and gathering for sustenance. The region's dense forests and rugged terrain presented both challenges and opportunities for settlers, leading to the development of industries like logging and mining. Today, the Pacific Northwest is known for its vibrant cities, outdoor recreation opportunities, and progressive culture.
