Australia is classed as a Continent, or is some cases an Island Continent. It is more accurate to say that Greenland in the biggest island at 822,706 square miles.

As a continental landmass, Australia is within the same group as Afro-Eurasia and the Americas. Antarctica could be included, but this is a special case.
