No. Some situations they just can't... like a horizontal slider that the bottom has to be 44" from finished floor. It makes it look nice when the interior doors and windows all have the same header height & the framers like to do it that way but there are exceptions.

should be the same door and yes you should be able to eliminate the vent window as it just bolts in the door, I didn't think a 68 had a vent window.
For the same reason your garage door needs to be bigger than your car. So it fits through it.
Had the same issue on my 1993. You need to take the door panel off to access the nuts and bolts that are used to mount the window to the guide.

I would try to get some technical diagram of the vehicle door. Then, as you understand the layout of the components within the door, the part that you can not not see, you should try to put the window on track. This can be done by a help of another person. Think of it this way, you need to fish the window on the track but you can not see the track - to do this, you need to set the track half way and then work the window with both hands onto the track. How do you know where the track is when you power the window up/down - I don't know. However, I ended up taking the car door apart to get inside and look at the window as I reseated onto the track. You may need to do the same or pay a technician 300.00 to do it for you.
remove inner door panel. check window mechanism. it may need oiling. if not u should be able to force it up by winding window up & putting pressure on bottom of window at same time.try spraying with WD 40 first
Floor length is okay but size doesn't matter as much as placement. Put it across from a window or door for best effect and about the same size as the windoe or door.
First check to see that other items are not on the same curcuit as the window in question and that they are/are not working properly. Next open door panel and make sure window motor is still operational. Replace fuse with door panel open and see what's up when you try to lower/raise window. Is the motor in need of lube? Is window regulator and its components well greased? I have had this same problem and it was due to the motor stopping at a dead point in its tracks. Tapped motor slightly with the end of a screwdriver and motor worked. Greased all of the above and closed door panel. Problem has not resurfaced(1991 240DL wagon).
To replace the window regulator on a 1993 K-1500, start by removing the door panel by unscrewing any fasteners and gently prying it off the door. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the window glass if necessary, typically by unbolting it from the regulator. Next, unbolt the old window regulator from the door, install the new regulator in the same position, and reattach the window glass. Finally, reconnect any electrical components and reassemble the door panel.
