"I have had an EBT card in Florida for about 6 months now and what I've learned is you can buy pretty much any type of foods except soda, hot food from the deli and fresh bakery items. I have tested it out buying different things like frozen Edwards pies, frozen pizzas, the Starbucks and dunkin donuts coffees in bags in the coffee aisles, various ice cream treats, steaks, seafood including frozen lobster tails and everything in between and all those items were approved. Hope this helps a little."

Actually, you can buy soda with your EBT card. You can buy pretty much everything in the store except as you said, hot foods are not allowed. However, if you go to Publix you can buy any cold subs and any cold fried chicken, etc in the deli case. You can also buy any types of seafood including crab legs, sushi, etc. As long as it's cold, and it's not prepared for you. When buying the crab legs, you must cook them yourselves because if they steam them for you then you have to pay for them. You are not allowed any alcohol of any kind but other than that and the aforementioned items, everything is fair game! Hope that helps!
