A centralized government is the form of government in which power is concentrated in a central authority to which local governments are subject. Centralization occurs both geographically and politically. A centralized government is characterized in which the local governments are designated by the central Government of the country, like the local administrative authorities. In this type of republic unlike a federal republic, local legislative assemblies do not exist. Nearly any government can be said to centralize their power to a degree. The term is applied to governments that vest limited authority to its subjects and often used in comparative terms, such as "highly centralized government" or "weakly centralized government". decentralized
A form of government in which the political authority exercises absolute and centralized control over all aspects of life.
A centralized system of government is one where there is one supreme government in which all citizens are ruled under. This may sound a bit harsh but not all centralized governments are bad. A Dictatorship like that of North Korea would be one harsh form of centralized government. Another example which for many people seems to be a stretch is the United States federal system. The entire U.S. is under the rule of the Constitution.
A unitary system of government is a type of government where power is centralized. When power is shared between a central government and local governments, this is referred to as a federal system of government.
