Toronto is a world-class city with a population of 2.6 million in the actual city of Toronto.

The subburbs (Thornhill, Ajax, Mississagua, etc) have double the amount of the city. This area is referred to by locals at GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The GTA hosts a population of 6.4 million.

The GTA is built around Lake Ontario. This region is home to other cities. One can drive from Oshawa to Niagara falls (2.5 hours in non-rush hour) and be in continual city. This region is known as 'The Golden Horseshoe' or 'Greater Golden Horseshoe'.

The population of the Golden Horseshoe is currently around 10 million people.
