Saudi Arabia is a vast country with many developed and industrial cities. Each city and major district has its its own postal (ZIP) code. For example ZIP codes in the capital, Riyadh, will start with 1, Western Areas with 2, and Eastern Province areas with 3. ZIP Codes are 5-digit numbers.

Saudi Arabia uses their own postal codes, but the "country code" of 682 is now being transitioned to the three-letter country identifier, which is simply SAU.

Within the country, postal box units are used, which require a domestic code and box number

(e.g., 31961 Saudi Arabia, Jubail Industrial City).
